Rohanna, on the other hand, is a huge, plant-deity deity that can decimate opponents from great distances. Gorogong, for example, is a powerful, close-up brawler with limited range.
These moves are all unique and each Titan will feel different in battle. The characters also have block attacks for special and melee as well as a dash-melee attack. It's either more powerful, or it has a greater range than the one you just press. You can use the special attack or melee buttons to unleash a secondary attack. They also have the ability to jump and dash and grab. Each character can use a melee attack and a special attack. GigaBash's control system is simple to learn and can be mastered in a matter minutes regardless of which Titan you choose. Gigaman is basically Ultraman with a hot dad bod. The King Kong-esque Gorogong, Godzilla-adjacent Rawa and the requisite giant robot with a sword, piloted by a child, are all examples of the attractive monsters. The monsters are equally impressive 10 Titans that draw inspiration from many tokusatsu sources. The variety, depth and construction of these locations, from congested cities to frozen arctic and other less terrestrial places, is worthy of great awe. Bright, detailed battle maps are chock-full with buildings, cars, ships and other people, just waiting for me trample all over them. It is without a doubt the most beautiful monster melee game I have ever played. Although almost everything is true, let's not dwell too much on the negatives. Everything about this game speaks volumes to me.

They created a world full of lore and lush locations, as well as giant monsters that are exceptionally designed. Passion Republic Games clearly loves this particular corner of sci-fi just as much as me. GigaBash, 2022's second videogame love letter to the kaiju category after Dawn of the Monsters this spring, is set in a world that giant monsters are revered and feared.

When Pipeworks Software gave us the Godzilla games in the early aughts we were able to do it again, but with better graphics, and a more enjoyable gameplay. My green hero wanted me to defeat other monsters and take down cities. But for me, a middle-schooler, they were just what I needed. King of the Monsters 2 and its sequel are terrible video games. My devotion to the kaiju-genre might have waned if it weren't for King of the Monsters. This left me with the terrible Godzilla games of late '80s to early '90s. I was several years away still from Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee. After I had finished those films, I went on to the video games. This was cinema to my eight year old mind.īefore school started on Monday, I had already made plans to search my local video rental shops looking for any Showa or Heisei-era Toho films that might be hiding on their shelves. The tape was three times I watched that weekend. I enjoyed watching the big green lizard writhe. At eight years old, I didn’t know that the film was actually an Americanization of a much better Japanese film. Since a friend of mine from childhood gave me his VHS of Godzilla 85 for a weekend, I've been a huge fan of Japanese giant monster films and kaiju.
